Class Objective for Pistol 101: Fundamentals of Pistol Handling and Marksmanship
In this 3-hour entry-level class, participants will gain a solid foundation in pistol handling. Key aspects include checking pistol condition, establishing a proper grip and stance, achieving accurate sight alignment and sight picture, executing a precise trigger press, and mastering basic loading and unloading procedures. Through hands-on training and theoretical understanding, participants will develop the skills necessary for safe and effective pistol use.

Specific Learning Objectives:
Pistol Condition Check:
- Identify and verify the condition of a pistol, ensuring it is safe to handle.
- Know if the gun is loaded or unladed.
Grip and Stance:
- Demonstrate a correct and secure grip for optimal control and recoil management.
- Adopt a stable and balanced shooting stance that enhances accuracy and control.
Sight Alignment and Sight Picture:
- Master the technique of aligning the front and rear sights for precision aiming.
- Develop the ability to acquire and maintain a consistent sight picture.
- Learn and apply proper trigger press techniques to minimize movement and enhance shot accuracy.
- Understand the concept of trigger reset for follow-up shots.
Loading and Unloading:
- Safely load and unload a pistol, following standard procedures.
- Develop muscle memory for efficient and reliable manipulation of the firearm.
- Practice essential pistol manipulations, such as racking the slide and removing the magasine.
- Gain confidence in handling the pistol in various scenarios.

* If you do not own your own equipment, you can rent or buy ours! Rental equipment starts at $25 a session which includes a pistol rental if needed.
